We are a Soil Association registered (AB21137) care farm that grows organic vegetables. We are setting up a new CROPSHARE from JULY 2012. We run as a not-for-profit social enterprise that aims to provide opportunities for 30 vulnerable adults. We also mentor local community food growing projects and run a gardening club at a local school.

Cropshare is two local organic growers selling produce through bags on a model of community-led trade... We want to support more people to become local growers and in the future we will accept produce from community projects provided that they attain the Market Garden Britain Awards. This is a new quality assurance where growers inspect each other and ensure that they do not use agrochemicals e.g. pesticides.

We avoid home deliveries. Instead we deliver to several “hubs” - important community shops or community venues so that you can pick up other bits of shopping whilst you are there. This is the way to get back to a truly local economy. The scheme works with a standing order through the bank after a months trial. This keeps the paperwork burden down so we can concentrate on growing over 50 different types of fruit and vegetables for you to try. We also prefer communications by email (but will accept phone calls if you do not have internet access). In the Lancashire hungry gap (April to June) we will source produce from further a field. We also sell fruit bags – fruit bowl organic apples, oranges and bananas. As these are less likely to be refrigerated their carbon footprint is lower.

  • SMALL £6 bag (6-7 seasonal vegetable types)

  • STANDARD £10 bag (8-9 veg types with more staples suitable for families)

  • FRUIT £5 fruit bag - apples (from UK when available), oranges and bananas. Additionally we will add Lancashire fruit when available.)
